ingredients:-
Gram flour (besan) - 1 1/2 cup
Green Chilli - 2
Asafeotida - a pinch
Ginger - 1/2 inch
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Baking Soda - 3/4 tsp
Curd - 2 tbsp
Lime juice - 1 tbsp
Oil - 1 tbsp
Sugar as per taste
Salt to taste
For garnishing Dhokla:-
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Green chilli (chopped) - 1
Corainder leaves - 1tbsp
Grated coconut - 1 tbsp
method:-
Mix the gram flour, curd and tumeric powder with warm water to make a thick batter. Add chillies, ginger, salt, soda and lime juice, and blend until mixed thoroughly. Add the paste to gram flour mixture and mix it. Pour the mixture into a greased plate or shallow cake pan and place it in a steamer. Cover and steam for 15 minutes. When cool, cut the dhokla into pieces. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When seeds start to splutter, add the asafetida and pour over the cut dhoklas. Garnish this indian recipe dhokla with grated coconut and coriander leaves and serve with chuteny.
